A beekeeper since 2013, I breed my own Honey Bees (Apis mellifera mellifera) to be a hardy and gentle strain. They need to be hardy for the climate in this area, and working with gentle bees can be a relaxing experience.
Occasionally, I sell honey bee packages to local people, who wish to get started in beekeeping, and provide ongoing advice and apiary visits in support of their beekeeping. If you are interested in taking up beekeeping as a hobby, I am happy to offer advice on getting started. It is very important to source your bees locally, where they are accustomed to the climate.
I harvest around 120lbs of Heather Honey each autumn, and sell it in traditional 1lb jars, with free local delivery.
