Join a Wild Things instructor to learn to shape wood into practical, functional objects. Intended for novices, over the course of the day we will cover how to use knives and saws safely and efficiently to produce a spoon from green wood.
No prior experience is needed, and all carving equipment will be provided. Please be aware carving will require a moderate degree of manual dexterity, though where possible we will work to adapt techniques to assist any requirements.
This session will be run primarily within an indoor space, though we will need to step outside from time to time to saw and split wood. Please wear or bring appropriate clothing to be comfortable inside, and outside for short durations.
This workshop is for people over the age of 18. The day will run from 10.30am until 3pm at the Acorn Centre, Cabrach. Booking is essential. Please bring a packed lunch and drink.
This course has been kindly funded through our Silver Saplings Programme, so all you need to pay is a booking fee of £10 to secure your place.
