Community Larder

Dufftown Community Larder reduces waste and promotes a circular economy.

After developing a partnership with the Royal British Legion Dufftown, the DDCA have established a community larder in their vestibule. The food larder is replenished daily and is open between 0900 & 1400 daily. Please take for yourself or another resident as required, please leave a donation as you feel you can. We are grateful for the many anonymous donors leaving vegetables, fruit, jams, and soups. We ask that you provide a full ingredients list for allergens purposes. Updates on the daily goodies at the community larder can be found on our Facebook page.

The food larder is kindly supported by the Royal British Legion Dufftown along with many other kind local businesses and government support schemes. It is thought that at least 100 people use the food larder per week and this is saving 100kg of end of life Co-op food stuffs from landfill.

Dufftown Food Larder

Many thanks to Howdens Elgin for their donation of the kitchen units!

In February 2022, the community larder received £500 in donations from Tesco Community Grants. This will go towards the purchasing of non-perishable food for the larder.
