DDCA raises £50,000 and delivers Tininver Playpark upgrade
As highlighted through the Dufftown planning for real process, upgrading of the facilities at Tininver park was a priority for the town. The DDCA fundraised tirelessly for 5 years to upgrade the Tininver park and raised £50,000 to spend on more play equipment. This was made possible due to the work of the DDCA, Mortlach Mud Mayhem, Moray Council and part funded by Foundation Scotland from the EDF Renewables Dorenell Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund.
After a successful community consultation which had nearly 200 responses the park upgrade started. The Moray council removed the dilapidated shelter to make way for an extension to the play equipment.
Phase 1 of the Tininver park upgrade included drainage, new goal posts, and new play equipment. A big thanks to all the volunteers and donations making this possible.
There is still a lot of potential to improve Tininver park further. Future plans are –
- Mixed use games area – a fenced in area for football, basket/net ball, hockey etc.
- Increased parking including disabled space.
- Sealed perimeter path with wheelchair access to play equipment.
- Adult fitness area.
- Mountain bike area.
